Facilitation and Capacity Building for Civil Society

Building organisations that think clearly, lead honestly, and last. Full-day and multi-session workshops for NGOs, community-based organisations, and civil society groups. Designed around how adults actually learn: participatory, activity-based, and rooted in the real situations your organisation is navigating. Not a lecture. A working session.
 

What to Expect:

  • Capacity building for community-based organisations working with LGBTQIA+ communities and people living with HIV, including Project Pehchan (Global Fund Round 9), supervising 51 CBOs across 5 states of India

  • Trainer on sex, gender, sexuality, political advocacy and crisis handling at EQUel (Emerging Queer Leaders) 2019 workshop

  • Leadership training selected from 1500 applicants at the Swedish International Leader Lab 2019, organised by the Swedish Institute

  • Sensitisation work with religious bodies as Core Member of the National Ecumenical Forum on Gender and Sexual Diversities under the National Council of Churches of India

  • Safe space discussions and peer support for LGBTQIA+ youth collectives including Yaariyan and Umang, which together reach over 8500 queer youth across India

  • University lectures at IIFT Delhi, Karnavati University, PDPU, and the Asia Pacific LMAD Youth Conference on youth, gender, and inclusion advocacy

Corporate Keynote Speaking and DEI Training

Inclusion that goes beyond the policy document. Speaking and training for corporate teams, HR departments, and leadership groups on LGBTQIA+ inclusion and gender justice. From keynotes and panel discussions to full-day workshops and strategy consulting, sessions are designed to be practical, honest, and grounded in real workplace situations rather than theory alone.

  • Advisory team member and speaker at RISE Bangalore 2019, India's LGBTQIA+ Job Fair, on workplace diversity and inclusive hiring

  • Panelist at global gender and inclusion forums on intersectionality, feminist leadership, and LGBTQIA+ rights

  • Law enforcement sensitisation for police forces and legal professionals on handling LGBTQIA+ cases with sensitivity and fairness, through Project Pehchan and Project Sandesh

Advocacy and Research

Expert guidance when it matters most. Subject matter expertise for organisations, academic institutions, and research teams working in gender, LGBTQ+ rights, and community health. Available as a resource person, thought partner, peer reviewer, or ongoing advisor depending on what your project needs.

  • Delegate for Asia and the Pacific on the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board from 2023

  • Contributor to the Asia LGBTQ Network's international research "The Edge of Queer: Lessons in Liberation from Bisexual Asian Women"

  • Advisory and consultancy work with TARSHI and Human Capability Foundation on gender and inclusion

  • Presented a paper on "Films for Change: Advocacy initiatives aiming stigma reduction of vulnerable populations" at the 11th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP 11), Bangkok

  • Represented The Humsafar Trust at the World Pride Human Rights Conference in Toronto, panelist on "Politics of Pride Parades"

  • Participated in LGBT Human Rights and HIV Programming Horizontal Learning Exchange in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

  • Co-formulated the Mission Azaadi Document, a roadmap for advocacy on LGBT issues, and the Sanchar Media Guide for improved reporting of LGBT issues in four Indian languages

  • Featured in Sridhar Rangayan's documentary Purple Skies and Stephen Fry's documentary Out

  • Portrayed a lesbian character in the Bollywood film W, and featured as a bisexual woman on prime-time Zee TV's Connected Hum Tum

  • Creative Associate at Parodevi Pictures on Agents of Ishq, a multimedia project on sex, love, and desire funded by Ford Foundation and Packard Foundation

  • Featured in Femina, Cosmopolitan (Rainbow List of 20 LGBT Role Models), The Better India, Firstpost, and Gaysi

  • Part of the Festival Management Team for KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival for 5 years

  • Brand campaigns including Elle India and Levis #ProudToBeMore, Levis #IShapeMyWorld, One Plus and Vice #NeverSettleForInequality, and Uber #LoveMovesForward
